Wow - just made it! Links 2, 3, and 4 deal with barbershop harmony. The Hunterdon Harmonizers is my local chapter/chorus. Lots of fun. The other links deal with the local district (M-AD) and the national society. I'm currently a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society Marketing/PR Committee. This is my second year on the committee.

Links – Part 1

Well, I guess I've gotten over the deer thing! What a pain!

Look to the right and you'll see a bunch of links. I'll be commenting on these links over the next few posts.

The first link is "Google News." That link is automatically included when you start one of these blogs. I decided to keep it. Google News is good - covers a lot of topic areas - and you can customize it as you like.

So give it a try!

The Deer Story

Last Wednesday (8/23/07) in the late afternoon we noticed a big brown lump in the back yard. Upon investigation it turn out to be a dead deer. Not sure how it got there – probably hit by a car and roamed around for a while before collapsing.

Already Wednesday we noticed big black birds circling the carcase. Thursday morning a coyote had dragged the thing half way across our back yard. And...most of the meat was gone.

We had to get rid of this thing. I called the township Health Department and told them I had a dead deer in my back yard. "Is it on the road?" (What part of back yard didn't you understand?)

Turn out that the town will only pick up a carcase if it is on the road. They gave me the phone number of a private service. They were prompt! They were also expensive!

It costs $150 to have this thing dragged out of my back yard.

Snarl!

The Beginning

I always wondered why I would want a blog.
